An application for admission into a course of study leading to the award of higher degree or postgraduate diploma in Development Studies is submitted on the prescribed School of Post Graduate Studies Form I obtainable from the Secretary School of postgraduate Studies (SPGS), University of Nigeria on the payment of prescribed application fee in cash or bank draft at the School’s Offices at Nsukka or Enugu Campus.  All bank drafts from accredited banks should be made payable to the University of Nigeria. Postgraduate admissions are usually advertised in major Nigerian newspapers in December/January. Candidates are admitted once a session for postgraduate diploma and master’s degree programmes, that is, in September. Admissions for Doctoral Programmes are conducted twice in a session, at the beginning of each semester, in September and April. Candidates applying for September admissions must obtain the application form between January and March of the same year.

Completed application forms must be returned with copies of qualifying certificates and two passport photographs. Candidates must request their three referees to forward their reports on the referee’s report form, and their former Universities/Institutions to forward their academic transcripts, so as to reach the Secretary before the closing date for the submission of the application forms. Student copy of transcript is not acceptable and no admission will be offered without the transcript. (see the prospectus of the School of Post Graduate Studies for further details).
